Bio

My name is Rachel Cofield

Nearly everyone I’ve met can name a teacher who inspired them in some way; for me, it was my fourth grade teacher who made learning fun with daily guitar playing, chess challenges, and special ceremonies for reading. Since then, I knew I wanted to become a teacher. Perhaps it is my love of a variety of topics that drew me to teaching writing. I have always viewed writing as a means of exploration into new worlds and new ideas, and I adopt this same sense of wonder in my personal life. Traveling, hiking, and immersing myself in nature are some of my favorite pastimes. In between adventures, you can find me reading, playing video games, and absorbing as much media as I can. I continue to learn every day, and I hope I can inspire my students to do the same.
